Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

Agreement

By creating an account or using Passlette, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

Your account

  • You must provide a valid email address and keep your master password safe. Because of how zero-knowledge encryption works, we cannot recover your password for you — losing it means losing access to your vault.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You may not use automated tools to create accounts.

Trial and billing

  • New accounts include a 90-day free trial. No credit card is required to start.
  • After the trial, a paid subscription is required to continue using Passlette. Subscriptions are billed annually and belong to the subscribing user, not to a specific group.
  • You can cancel at any time. Your groups remain accessible until the end of the paid period. There are no refunds for unused time.
  • We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. Changes take effect at your next renewal.

Acceptable use

You may not use Passlette to:

  • Store or share content that is illegal under applicable law, including US federal law
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or vaults
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
  • Use automated tools to create accounts or send requests at a rate that strains the service

Your data

You own your data. We store it on your behalf and use it only to operate the service. Because Passlette uses zero-knowledge encryption, we have no technical ability to read your vault contents even if compelled. See the Privacy Policy for details on what we collect and how we handle it.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

Service availability

We aim to keep Passlette reliable but do not guarantee any specific uptime. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice so you can export or copy your credentials before access ends.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Passlette is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will notify you by email before material changes take effect. Continued use of Passlette after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of King County, Washington.
